About Me
I have a degree in English from Cambridge University and I successfully completed a Literary Translation Course given by Calamo y Cran S.L. I studied Italian privately in my own country of origin and in Italy, so I have an advanced level in both languages, both spoken and written. Spanish and Catalan are my mother tongues, both spoken and written, which makes me bilingual in these two languages.
During my professional career I gave private English lessons and I translated contracts, offers, orders, instruction books and web pages, as well as simultaneous translations at trade fairs from English and Italian into Spanish and vice versa.
My long work experience, in which I have held administrative positions combined with translation, has enriched my repertoire of skills on a daily basis, including excellence in communication and a great capacity for motivation, adding to my skills in the following areas:
- Meeting targets and respecting deadlines through proper management of resources.
- Translating from English and Italian into Spanish or Catalan and giving language classes to both children and adults.
- Handle computer systems: Microsoft Office (word processing, calculation and design), internet and SDL Trados.
Since 4 years, I am also a Volunteer at an animal shelter in my own town and also help there with my translations, so I am used to this kind of work.
